Paul W. Stivers, a founding partner of Rogers & Hardin LLP, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Mr. Stivers was one of eight attorneys who founded Rogers & Hardin in 1976.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Stivers was one of the preeminent securities lawyers in the United States. He was recognized as both a leading securities litigator and an arbitrator, and his clients included many of the leading brokerage firms in the country.
Mr. Stivers was an active member of the Securities Litigation Committee and the Broker-Dealer Litigation Subcommittee of the American Bar Association. A frequent speaker at the leading bar and industry programs, he regularly presented at the Securities Industry Association Law and Compliance Division’s annual meetings. Best Lawyers in America also recognized him as a one of the leading business litigation attorneys in the country.
Mr. Stivers graduated B.S., cum laude, from Indiana University, and received his J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law. He clerked for the Honorable George N. Beamer of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana from 1969 to 1971.
