About R&H
Rogers & Hardin maintains the flexibility of a smaller firm, while providing a level of sophistication usually associated with much larger firms. The quality of the Firm’s attorneys is evidenced by numerous accomplishments and recognitions, such as the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s recognition of Rogers & Hardin as one of Atlanta’s top law firms. Additional recognitions include:
-
In 2007 Rogers & Hardin had nine partners, approximately 33% of all partners, ranked as Georgia Super
Lawyers. Two of these partners were ranked in the Top 100 and one was ranked in the Top 10.
-
Two partners and three associates were selected in 2007 as Georgia Rising Stars Super Lawyers published by Law

ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality” and “membership can never be more than
1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.”
-
Rogers & Hardin successfully represented Attorney General Thurbert Baker before the Georgia
Supreme Court in the landmark case brought by Governor George E. "Sonny" Perdue III. Attorney General
Baker stated that he was "extremely proud to have had them represent my office in this case."
In addition to published recognitions, the Firm’s strong reputation is further evidenced by the fact that our lawyers are frequently asked to speak to business and lawyer groups at regional and national conferences, seminars, and law school courses. Perhaps more important than the intellectual and academic stature of R&H lawyers is their valuable practical experience. A number of our partners serve as directors of major corporations, including NYSE and other public companies, as well as private domestic and foreign companies. The Firm has also represented many major law firms in various matters, gaining a reputation as “lawyers’ lawyers”.
Our Practice
While Atlanta is the Firm’s home, our practice is not restricted to Atlanta or the State of Georgia. Our domestic clients are located throughout the United States. For example, Rogers & Hardin serves as general counsel for companies based in New York, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Bermuda, and Japan, to name a few.
As Atlanta’s significance as an international commercial center has increased, so has the Firm’s involvement in international transactions. Rogers & Hardin represents companies in Taiwan, Japan, the British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda as well as individuals who have business interests in America and abroad.
Rogers & Hardin’s litigators represent clients in matters before all state and federal courts, as well as in connection with arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Our client base is primarily comprised of large multi-national firms and mid-sized public and private companies. The Firm also represents promising start-up and development-stage companies, as well as individuals and entrepreneurs. The firm is regularly involved in high profile litigation. For example, the firm represents the majority owners in litigation over the ownership of the Atlanta Hawks, the Atlanta Thrashers and the rights to Philips Arena.
Our Philosophy
Rogers & Hardin provides a high level of client service and responsiveness. We are known for our practical, solution-oriented approach to commercial representations as well as the experience and professionalism with which we prosecute or defend a lawsuit. At the same time, we are mindful of the need to control the cost of legal services. Accordingly, we plan and monitor our efforts in consultation with the client in order to deliver legal services that achieve the client’s objectives at a price that corresponds to the client’s expectations.
History
Rogers & Hardin was formed in 1976 by eight lawyers who had practiced in large Atlanta and New York firms and who shared a common philosophy regarding the delivery of legal services to corporate and business clients. From its inception, the Firm has enjoyed a special reputation for its ability to advise and represent clients in connection with complex business transactions and commercial disputes. Within eight months of its founding, Rogers & Hardin was representing the nation’s major airlines and the City of Atlanta, defending against antitrust and other challenges to the construction and operation of the present Atlanta airport in the high profile Midfield Terminal case. During the same period, the Firm conducted one of the first tender offers for securities of a company in bankruptcy reorganization in the North American Acceptance Corporation bankruptcy. Today, the Firm continues to conduct a sophisticated business-related litigation and corporate practice.
