Paralegals

Paralegals at Rogers & Hardin LLP are given a great deal of responsibility. Along with a full case load, most have supervisory responsibilities over caseworkers who are assigned to their team. It is interesting and challenging, but not everyone is up to such a broad range of tasks. Paralegals are not micromanaged, but work directly with partners and associates to serve the clients. Paralegals have the opportunity to be supervised by one of the Firm’s Paralegal Coordinators, giving all paralegals a direct line to management with someone who understands the day-to-day stresses of the profession.

While an ABA Paralegal Certificate is preferred, Rogers & Hardin recognizes the value of years of actual paralegal experience in a law firm setting. With longevity and outstanding references from previous employers, the need for a certificate may be waived.

Paralegals work a 40-hour week and have a 1,600-hour annual billable goal. This is not difficult to reach because challenging work is always available. Paralegals are considered non-exempt employees, meaning any hours over 40 in a given work week will be paid at time and a half. After a minimum of one year of service with the Firm, paralegals are eligible to join our 401k and profit sharing programs. Accrued, paid vacation and sick time away from the office are generous and increase annually the first five years of employment. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flexible spending and health reimbursement accounts and employee assistance program offered to all employees at minimal cost. Dependant coverage is available for purchase. Additionally, paralegals are rewarded for their outstanding service and longevity through a tiering system culminating in Tier IV, or Paralegal Specialist. Each year management determines which paralegals are eligible for advancement. When promoted, a paralegal receives a $300 net bonus to honor this accomplishment.
