Assistants

Rogers & Hardin LLP's positive culture and professional rapport with our staff members are reflected in the extended tenure of our secretaries, many of whom have worked at the firm for more than 20 years and one of whom has been with her present boss for 30 years.

Assistants are generally paired with three timekeeper assignments. This is well thought out in advance so that no one secretary has more than he or she can gracefully handle. The Firm offers word processing support from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and we have a support services center to assist with copying, faxing, and the mail. Our Microsoft Certified computer trainer is available to help any new employee learn our computer system, and we encourage all our secretaries and attorneys to sign up for computer Lunch and Learn classes offered throughout the year.

Assistants work a 36.25 hour work week, with overtime paid at time and a half after 36.25 hours within a given work week. The benefits program for our assistants is outstanding. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flexible spending and health reimbursement accounts and employee assistance program offered to all employees at minimal cost. Dependant coverage is available for purchase. Accrued vacation, sick leave, and personal days are combined into PTO, or paid time off. At the completion of a assistant ’s fifth year at the Firm, he or she will have earned 25 PTO days per year that can be taken as paid vacation, sick leave or personal time. Any days remaining at the end of the year can be paid out at half the value of each individual’s regular pay rate, and/or up to 10 days can be banked for future use in a family or medical emergency.
