Overview

Rachel Bishop is a litigation associate at Rogers & Hardin. She advises businesses on employment and contract issues, as well as represents businesses, public entities, and individuals in complex civil litigation in federal and state courts.

Rachel graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. During law school she was an articles editor for the Georgia Law Review and competed for two years in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition. During her third-year, she was a pupil in the Lumpkin Inn of Court and a participant in the Appellate Litigation Clinic, where she presented argument before the Eleventh Circuit in a Title VII retaliation case. Rachel was inducted into the Order of Barristers upon graduation and received awards for the top grade in three courses. Before law school, she received a Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Kenyon College. 
 

Representative Experience

Part of a team representing SouthStar Energy Services, Georgia’s largest natural gas marketer with operations in ten states, in all aspects of its business, including litigation, contract and regulatory matters.

Advises businesses on issues relating to employment law, restrictive covenants, and trademark issues.

Represented Southeastern bank in action against former employee for misappropriation of confidential information and violation of post-employment restrictive covenants. The case reached a favorable settlement.

Represented plaintiff corporation in multi-million dollar breach of contract and fraud action, successfully obtaining a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to preserve assets and negotiating a favorable consent judgment. 

Representing Atlanta Public Schools in pending litigation before the Georgia Supreme Court related to the constitutionality of an annexation by the City of Atlanta.
